The composition problem

Thymalin is not thymosin alpha 1.

Thymosin alpha 1 is a defined 28-amino-acid peptide. Thymalin is described in the literature as a polypeptide complex isolated from thymus tissue. Treating them as synonyms erases the differences in composition, manufacturing, pharmacology, and evidence.

That distinction is particularly important for injections. A paper studying a particular tissue-derived preparation cannot establish the identity or clinical performance of every product sold under a similar name.
